What a Bitcoin heater is
A Bitcoin heater is an ASIC miner designed for quiet operation and heat output in living spaces. Physically almost all input power becomes heat — exactly like a fan heater, except Bitcoin is mined at the same time. The difference from a standard miner is noise, enclosure and power class.

Making the economics work

You need a standard socket on an adequately fused circuit, Wi-Fi or LAN and a pool account. Setup usually takes under 30 minutes.
Safety in living spaces – children and pets
A Bitcoin heater in a living room follows the same rules as any other heater: free-standing, away from curtains and furniture, air intakes never covered. The casing gets warm but not glowing hot — still, with toddlers and pets treat it exactly like a fan heater and do not run it unattended within reach.
Units such as the Avalon Q are built for living spaces and run at ≤45 dB, roughly the level of a quiet fridge. Classic large miners at 70–75 dB belong in a basement, workshop or hall only.
What works in practice: a dedicated fused circuit, a non-flammable surface, regular dust checks on the fans and — where children play — a fixed corner that is off the play area.

Because the hardware is already imported and cleared inside the EU, there is no import VAT, no customs paperwork and no waiting for air freight from Asia.
